Author Interviews

Me, Stephen A. Roddewig, talking with other authors about the writing process, publishing, Assassin’s Creed, the inescapable monster that is rejection, and avalanche rescue. You know, the usual topics.

The Shrug

A super fun conversation with Jazzy Gonçalves. We talk through many of my favorite stories that I’ve published on Vocal as well as our takes on the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Not to mention, I turn the tables and interview her. Bonus: None of these questions were provided in advance. So listen to critique my impromptu hosting skills and see how she fairs against my ambush questions!

What’s not to love?

Creative Conversations

Unfortunately, Creative Conversations is no longer in circulation or I’d use the original episode here. Thankfully I had already published the interview as a bonus episode on Jon and Stephen Recorded Readings so you don’t miss out.

My debut discussion with fellow author Marissa Lete. And I couldn’t think of a better person with whom to get deep into the details on writing short stories, editing short stories, submitting short stories, getting rejections for… short stories.

Yeah, a lot about short stories in this one. Also a bit about poetry!

Thankfully, Marissa had published her debut novel Echoes, so there’s also gems of wisdom for you full-length writers out there.

Plus, I drop an absolute dime of a line comparing the submission process to online dating (spoiler: it’s a numbers game). And Zoom does my audio absolutely dirty and makes my voice even more nasally than normal. Three years later, I have a much better microphone. Lesson learned.

You don’t want to miss it!
